FAQs

Find Answers to the Most Common Questions

Q1. What if I’m already taking medication from my primary care physician (PCP) / general practictioner (GP)?

Answer: The remedies can be safely taken in conjunction with conventional medicine. An educated, trained and experienced homeopath would never preach that a patient simply stop taking their prescribed medication, especially if these medications are taken over a significant period of time.

Q2. Can I treat myself with homeopathic remedies?

Answer: You can use some remedies at home to treat first aid problems such as cuts, stings, minor burns and bruises. If you have treated yourself homeopathically, please inform your homeopath at your next consultation. It has become increasingly popular for parents to treat their children at home with homeopathic remedies for acute illnesses. This is to be encouraged, just as long as the acute episode is a one of. A frequently recurring problem is best left to someone who is trained in homeopathy

Q3. Do I have to believe in homeopathy for it to work for me?

Answer: No. If this was the case how would homeopathic vets treat sick animals. Furthermore, newborn babies and children respond very well to homeopathy. It is also unlikely that you can truly believe in something until you have witnessed the results.

Q4. Are homeopathic remedies tested on animals?

Answer: No testing on animals is ever undertaken. Homeopathic remedies are only tested on healthy fully consenting adults (usually homeopaths themselves).

Q5. What does a registered member with the CHC and NASH mean?

Answer: As a registered homeopath I practice by the CHC / NASH Code of Ethics and Practice. I hold professional insurance and have passed stringent academic and clinical assessments.

Q6. Would my insurance cover homeopathic treatment?

Answer: The answer to this is best given by your insurance agency. In Europe, insurance companies do cover homeopathic treatement and care. In Asian countries, especially India, insurance is not a requirement. In the US, there is no insurance coverage, however if you have a ‘Flex Savings Account’ you may get reimbursed. You may also consult your Primay Care Physician if their insurance covers Homeopathic medicines / referrals.

At HHH we provide invoices at request.

Q 8. How frequent are the visits?

Answer: The frequency of your visit depends upon your presenting condition. If you have an acute condition, you may have visits every week to 15 days. If you have a Chronic condition your follow-up visits may be monthly or quaterly.

For chronic, long standing condtions example vitiligo, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis etc. on an average I have seen this plan to work the best:

  • 1st follow-up visit: 7 days after Initial Consult / !st medicinal dose

  • 2nd follow-up visit: 15 days  after 1st follow-up visit

  • 3rd follow-up visit: 1 month following 2nd follow-up visit

  • 4th follow-up visit: 3 months following 3rd follow-up visit. Thereafter 6months to yearly visits.

Remember the concept of ‘Classical Homeopathy’ is ‘One dose’ treatment, infrequent repetitions and improving your immune system.

In acute conditions, such as allergies, acute episode of Asthma, common cold & flu, viral infections, etc. we may request frequent visits.

Q 9. How will I be notified about my next visit?

Answer: You will receive an email / text/ call about a week before your next appoitment. A tentative next follow-up visit date will be selected during your visit. If you need to re-schedule or change your dates, you are advised to do so a day in advance to avoid inconvinience to you as well as us. We will not charge you to cancel an appointment at any point of time.

Q10. What happens if I discontinue homeopathy treatment OR if I’m not satisfied with the results, can I stop?

Answer: If you discontinue Homeopathy treatment there are no side-effects, addicitions or any kind of harm to your mind or body. Please DO NOT SELF MEDICATE, this may lead to bad effects just like any other mode of treatment.

At HHH, upon request, we may provide  you your case-details if you would like to share it with another Homeopath or Physician. One word of advise, if you do not get results with one Homeopath and you do not wish to continue with him/her, do not consider this a homeopathic treatement failure. There are more than 3000 homeopathic remedies that call for a thorough case-taking to get that one remedy which will show effect. I would rather have my clients/patients change Homeopaths than leave homeopathy. Feel free to ask me for another Homeopath reference, I will gladly provide you with one and also share your case details. At HHH, you become a family member from your 1st consult, we will try to provide the best possible care via Homeopathy.
